Dr. Li currently serves as our Chairman of the Board. He has over 20 years of experience in viral infection mechanisms and its prevention and treatment research. In 2012, Dr. Li’s team discovered sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide (NTCP), a receptor integral to hepatitis B infection. The discovery was a major breakthrough in the field in the over past 30 years and is now widely considered a milestone in HBV research. Dr. Li was awarded Outstanding Young Scientist in Basic Science Award, “Outstanding Achievement Award” by the WuXi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Award.
Dr. Li received his PhD. from Peking Union Medical College in 2001. Prior to founding Huahui Health, Dr. Li worked at Harvard Medical School from 2001 to 2007 and joined National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing (NIBS) in October 2007.
